The Box Fire has grown to an estimated 40 acres, according to Saguaro National Park spokesperson Beth Hudick. Numerous ground and air resources are actively engaged in fighting the fire, Hudick said. The National Park Service has closed several trails in the area to the public, including those accessed from the Javelina Picnic Area, Loma Alta Trailhead and X9 Ranch.
