TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Excellence in Education mini-grants are helping Sunnyside teachers address classroom needs. The Sunnyside Foundation spends tens of thousands of dollars each year supporting teacher projects, and the application is now open.
Teacher creates Reading Nook
Students at Rivera Elementary School are reading comfortably thanks to a mini-grant received by their teacher, Dana Kotter. Kotter returned to teaching last year and said something was missing from her classroom.
“I came back and quickly realized I did not have what I wanted in the classroom,” Kotter, a special education teacher at Rivera Elementary, said.
