Nearly eight months since the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a possible new ransom note.
“Guthrie task force was recently made aware of a new possible ransom note in the Nancy Guthrie investigation,” the sheriff’s office shared in a statement to social media on Monday, September 28. “Investigators are also aware of social media comments being made regarding this note and are looking further into this and working to determine credibility.”

The update marks the first from the department since August 17, when human remains were discovered in a desert area outside of Tucson, Arizona. The PCSD determined the remains were not connected to Guthrie’s disappearance.
