Independent film takes center stage in downtown Tucson this October as the Tucson Film Festival returns for its 22nd annual celebration from October 8 through 11 at The Screening Room.
The festival opens Thursday evening with a special screening of Test, directed by Sam McConnell. The drama follows an amateur bodybuilder whose pursuit of a professional bodybuilding card leads him into the world of performance enhancing drugs while challenging his family, faith and identity.
Friday’s opening night features The Palomino, a documentary about the legendary Los Angeles honky tonk. Director Adrienne Isom and writer KP Hawthorn will join a Q&A following the screening, along with rockabilly artists Rosie Flores and James Intveld.
