The Arizona Weatherman forecasts a mix of snow and rain for Southeastern Arizona on Saturday, 10 Feb 2024. The weather will also bring gusty winds. The type of precipitation you can expect largely depends on your elevation and the timing of the weather event. The snow level is predicted to be around 4,400 feet. This means that if you’re located above this elevation, you’re likely to see snow, while those below can expect rain.
The precipitation will move in from the northwest and start to impact Tucson Saturday morning after 8 am and move toward the Southeast over the course of the day. Expect the Tucson metro to get .25” to .60” of rain. As it moves into the higher terrain, it will impact Benson with a snow/rain mix and possibly 1-3 inches of snow. It is a tough call here with Benson right near the snow line. Other areas like Sonoita, a little higher, could also get 1-3 inches of snow with this event. Sierra Vista will get hit with heavier precipitation a little later in the day, more likely rain, and less than an inch of snow. Willcox is a little lower in elevation, looking to be more likely a rain event less than .30”. The higher terrain, such as the Whetstone mountains above 6,000 feet, is looking to get 4-8 inches of snow from this event.
