Local Burger Restaurant Hit With 11 Health Code Violations

Few things go together like a burger and a frosted mug of your favorite beverage. That is unless the burger or drink is from a restaurant serving up health code violations. For one popular burger restaurant here in Tucson, the health code violations added up during a recent inspection, ending with a whopping 11 violations when it was all said and done. Receiving a “Needs Improvement” rating, patrons of the restaurant can only hope the necessary corrections have been made before stopping by for another bite to eat.

On February 16, a health inspector paid a visit to Brooklyn’s at 3790 East Irvington Road here in Tucson. Over the course of the inspection six Core and five Priority violations were identified.

The first violation came when the inspector watched an employee make food. After completing an order, the employee used a bleach-soaked cloth to clean off the cutting board, before beginning to make another order, all without washing their hands. Failure to wash their hands opened up the potential of contaminating food with bleach. The inspector pointed out the issue to the Person In Charge (PIC) as well as the employee to avoid such an issue in the future.
