Fall in full swing: Arizona cold front to bring showers, gusty winds, and lower temps this week

According to the Arizona Weatherman, expect a change from summer sizzling record-breaking temperatures in Arizona to more fall-like temperatures, rain showers, and gusty winds by the beginning of the week through Wednesday, 28-30 October 2024. A cold front is moving through the state, driving down the oppressive heat and bringing some relief to more typical fall weather this week.

A cold front will move through the state on Monday and Tuesday, bringing gusty winds of 35-45 mph, mostly on the Mogollon Rim and southern Arizona, with 20-30 mph winds. Additionally, some rain showers and very isolated thunderstorms will likely move through the state on Monday and Tuesday. It is possible to get isolated snow above 7,000 feet in the mountains on the Rim, but not a lot of accumulation. Most of the rain potential will be on the Mogollon Rim, but there is a slight chance of some moisture making its way down to Tucson. The models are mixed on the solution to bring moisture to southern Arizona.
