11-year-old girl riding a scooter is dead after hit by a truck, PCSD says

UPDATE 9:45 p.m.

An 11-year-old girl riding a scooter was hit and killed by a truck Friday afternoon, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

The crash occurred near Irvington Road and Camino de Oeste, in a neighborhood near West Corte de Maizal and South Avenida de Raspa.

Authorities said neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors.

The truck’s driver is cooperating with the investigation, officials said.

The girl was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Tucson Police Department has confirmed there was a deadly collision involving a juvenile near Irvington and Camino de Oeste.

This took place in a residential area.
