Four dead and more injured in horror 12-vehicle chain reaction crash during dust storm warnings

Four people have been killed and eight others were injured after a horrifying multi-vehicle collision outside of Phoenix amid multiple dust storm warnings.

Troopers responded to a crash involving several tractor-trailers and passenger vehicles in the area of Interstate 10 near the community of Tonopah, about 50 miles west of Phoenix just before 1pm on Saturday, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. It’s believed there was an initial crash that caused a domino effect as more vehicles slammed into each other .

Officials initially said that six people had been killed while 13 others were injured, those numbers were revised during a press conference on Sunday in which it was confirmed that four people had died. More than 20 units responded to the crash, the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority said. Two patients were airlifted to hospital via helicopter and are in critical condition.

Six others were taken to hospital via ambulance, one was admitted for precautionary treatment while the five others were treated and released. Three people were declared dead at the scene while an additional person was pronounced dead later by DPS…
