TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Yellow balls bobbing on bright green leaves – Stinknet is one of the more unassuming desert predators.
“It is originally from South Africa, but it’s been slowly spreading into Arizona from California since the late 80s,” said Tony Figueroa, the Senior Manager for the Invasive Plant Program Tucson Bird Alliance. “It’s really exploded in Maricopa County to the point where it’s just smothered most of the open space lands throughout a lot of the Sonoran Desert.”
