Services may be cut, county employees may lose jobs over funding cuts

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – At least 50 Pima County Health Department employees may lose their jobs, and several services may be impacted after some federal grants were terminated.

In a memo, County Administrator Jan Lesher said the county was notified about the cuts on March 25.

While several grants were terminated, Lesher mentioned two large ones — the National Initiative to Address COVID-10 health Disparities and the COV4Equity. Combined, nearly $2 million won’t be sent to the county as expected…
