Tucson may pass ordinance that bans camping in washes

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – There’s a chance Tucson will make camping in washes illegal.

During a meeting in March, the city council voted on an ordinance that would ban camping in washes. The vote was 3-3, so it did not pass.

Richard Fimbres, who has since retired, was attending that meeting remotely. Fimbres voted yes, so the ordinance should have passed 4-3. But Mayor Regina Romero and the other council members did not hear his vote, so it wasn’t counted…
