Arizona ‘not out of the woods’ on provision to put public land on auction block

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – There is growing concern over a proposed bill that would sell public land in southern Arizona.

Until this past Tuesday, that could have included Sabino Canyon and Mount Lemmon.

It’s all part of an effort by Utah Sen. Mike Lee to help reduce the federal deficit and supply land for affordable housing.

Following backlash, though, and a rejection by the Senate parliamentarian, that original bill was shot down, but it’s back in a scaled-down version…
