Tucson man arrested for dealing parts for automatic firearms

PHOENIX — A 45-year-old man from Tucson was arrested on June 24 for engaging in the business of dealing in firearms without a license and possession of an unregistered firearm, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the the District of Arizona.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives discovered that Damien Jax Schaffer had “manufactured and sold 15 illegal machinegun conversion devices” between May 8 and June 24.

These type of devices are legally required to be registered with ATF via the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record, officials said.

ATF agents’ investigation revealed that Schaffer didn’t have a federal license for selling firearms in addition to illegally producing and possessing devices most commonly used to allow Glocks to shoot multiple rounds at once…
