Tucson Reopens Cooling Centers to Help Residents Beat Extreme Summer Heat

With temperatures soaring into the triple digits, the City of Tucson has re-opened its network of cooling centers to provide relief from the extreme summer heat. The seasonal program, now underway, will run through the end of August.

Cooling centers are available in all six city wards, offering air-conditioned spaces where residents can take a break from the sun and stay safe during the hottest part of the day. The centers operate daily from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., including weekends and holidays…
