Tucson Home Explodes in Rita Ranch Area, No Injuries Reported
I live a few minutes from Rita Ranch, and even from here, people said they felt the boom.
Just before 1 p.m. on Monday, a house on East Paseo San Bernardo exploded — not just caught fire, exploded. Tucson Fire responded immediately, and by the time crews arrived, the entire home was already engulfed. Flames were shooting up, debris was scattered across the street, and neighbors were out on the sidewalks, trying to figure out what just hit them.
One of the fire units radioed in, “Fully engulfed home, obvious explosion… debris all over even across the street.” That line alone gives you a picture of the scene — chaotic, dangerous, and something you don’t expect in a quiet neighborhood…
