A distressing situation unfolded in Marana, Arizona, when a baby was left unattended in a vehicle, an incident captured in a video that has since gone viral. The Marana Police Department confirmed they have arrested 24-year-old Brody Rago, citing him for leaving a minor in a vehicle, which is considered a misdemeanor. According to 13 News, the incident occurred at the Circle K on Marana Road near Interstate 10 on the sizzling day of July 19, with temperatures reported to be around 101 degrees.
The video, recorded by Erica Ocejo, captured the baby in clear distress in the backseat of the car, crying out and left alone with the keys in the ignition. Ocejo informed police and then filmed the 30-second snippet, showing the moment Rago emerged from the store, carrying a case of beer and then driving away. “I was just in disbelief that there was a baby in the car left alone,” Ocejo told FOX 10 Phoenix.
Public records further show that this is not Rago’s first brush with the law, having been cited for DUI charges as recently as June.
