FIRST ALERT FORECAST – Hot and dry…for today

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A few scattered clouds, but dry and hot as highs reach 106. An outflow boundary appears from thundershowers in New Mexico could slide into Cochise County overnight. However, still fairly dry at first.

Monday, afternoon thundershowers, mostly to the east. With dry soils, blowing sand and dust will be a first threat before the rains change the environment. Afternoon and evening thundershowers do their thing this week. Wednesday and Thursday stand out, at this point, as most active with the best geographic coverage. The models differ greatly on rainfall amounts. From a token few hundredths to more than a quarter inch in Tucson. Last check with the tally, Tucson has just slid slightly into the red with the Monsoon rainfall count for this Season.
