Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District welcomes new changes to support teachers, students

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District #35 is welcoming students back to the classroom with a series of changes aimed at supporting both staff and students. Teachers across the district are receiving a 5% raise this year.

“Being able to provide a 5% raise is important for us because we know that there’s a teacher shortage,” said SCVUSD Superintendent David Verdugo. “Really focusing on retaining our teachers and then the new teachers coming in the system, how can we provide the best opportunity for them.”
