TUCSON, AZ (August 5, 2025) – In a transaction bringing a local dining legacy full circle, E & S Irving, LLC, led by longtime Tucson restaurateur Ed Irving, has purchased the former Eegee’s location at 6810 E. Tanque Verde Road for $1 million ($574 PSF) from Slush, Inc. of Tucson. The acquisition marks a major step in the expansion of Irving’s Slice & Ice restaurant brand, slated to open its second Tucson location in the coming months.
The building, long recognized as an Eastside staple under the Eegee’s banner, closed its doors in late 2024 following the company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. The shutdown marked the end of an era for the property, which had served Tucson customers for decades under the frozen-drink and sub-sandwich chain co-founded by Irving in 1971.
This is a full-circle moment for Irving, who has lived near this location for years, and now gets to reimagine it as a Slice & Ice while keeping the tradition of locally-owned, family-friendly dining alive in this neighborhood…
