What we know about the fatal shooting outside Tucson’s Davis-Monthan Air Force base

The U.S. Air Force continued to investigate a deadly incident at the main gate of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson.

A civilian driver failed to stop and identify themselves at the gate around 2:30 a.m. Aug. 1 and was driving erratically, a news release from the base said.

The driver then crashed into a vehicle barrier and drove in reverse, the release said. Members of the 355 Security Forces Squadron fired weapons and killed the civilian, according to the release…
