Oro Valley may buy building for police facility

For an estimated $3.8 million, the town of Oro Valley is considering the purchase of a building that would become a new facility for the Oro Valley Police Department.

The item comes before the Oro Valley Town Council in the form of a resolution at its meeting this Wednesday, Aug. 13. If approved, the resolution would give Town Manager Jeff Wilkins permission to negotiate a final agreement to purchase a 50,500-square-foot building at 13101 N. Oracle, on the west side of Oracle Road north of Rancho Vistoso Boulevard.

Previously, the North Oracle building has housed medical offices and health care-related businesses. It sits on a 6-acre piece of land immediately north of the Rancho Vistoso Center, which counts among its occupants the Gaslight Music Hall, Harbor Freight Tools, Walgreens, and other businesses…
