Charro Steak North could be litmus test for expanding Tucson steakhouse to Gilbert

After weeks of renovating the interior, including adding a Joe Pagac mural of charros — two men and a woman — galloping into a storm, the family of Tucson’s iconic El Charro Mexican restaurant opened the second outpost of their popular downtown Charro Steak & del Rey.

Charro Steak North in the Casas Adobe Plaza at 7109 N. Oracle Road takes the place of Si Charro’s health-leaning Charro Vida restaurant, a passion project of matriarch Carlotta Flores. The restaurant was open for six years before it closed in late May.
