Groundbreaking for Sugar Hill on Stone Affordable Housing Development This Week

TUCSON, Ariz. (Aug. 26, 2025) — Tucson Mayor Regina Romero will join Ann Chanecka, Director of the City’s Housing and Community Development (HCD) Department, to break ground on Sugar Hill on Stone, a new affordable housing community at 1910 N. Stone Avenue. The ceremony will take place Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, from 8:30–9:30 a.m. Attendance is by invitation only.

Sugar Hill on Stone will deliver 66 affordable apartments—with 37 homes reserved for families and individuals currently residing in the Tucson House—advancing equitable reinvestment in a historically disenfranchised and disinvested neighborhood.
