From agriculture to industry to tourism to home-building, uncertain water security is already beginning to affect life along the U.S.-Mexico borderlands. These pressures will be further intensified by climate change and rising temperatures in the region. Experts in the sciences, engineering, law, and public policy are all being looked to for guidance on how to navigate Arizona’s water futures. But what is the role of the arts in navigating the social and cultural shifts necessary to imagine more sustainable futures for the environment and all its inhabitants?
