TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The community has voiced its frustrations with Tucson’s public health crisis with the city for months, and now leaders are responding with a new safe city initiative.
The initiative puts all of the work from different entities within the city under one umbrella, bringing more collaboration and communication.
In a roundtable led by Mayor Regina Romero, leadership from the city manager’s office, Tucson Police Department, and Tucson Fire Department spoke on the root cause of the city’s safety issues – the fentanyl crisis and substance abuse.
