Government shutdown creates pay uncertainty for military families

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Serving our country already comes with significant sacrifices, but now military members are among the essential workers who must report for duty while their pay is withheld until the government is funded again.

Over 2.29 million military and civilian personnel are currently working without pay.

President Donald Trump announced a temporary solution over the weekend to pay U.S. troops on Wednesday, Oct. 15, by directing the Pentagon to use $8 billion in unobligated research and development funds.
