TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A new Tucson nonprofit is on a mission to bring dignity and hope to those in need, one haircut at a time.
Lucy Vasquez founded Shears of Hope with a goal of restoring confidence in women, single parents, children, military veterans and families in transitional housing or shelters who don’t have the means to afford professional hair care services.
“I never knew that my cosmetology license would lead me to this,” Vasquez said. “If a simple haircut can bring confidence, restore their dignity, then my purpose in this work is that.”…
