Tucson Electric Power (TEP) will donate $50,000 to fight hunger as children and families in our community face growing food insecurity.
TEP will donate the funding this week to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, which works with about 400 nonprofit agencies and other organizations to distribute food throughout Southern Arizona. The food bank anticipates a significant increase in requests this month for food assistance.
“TEP is donating these funds to address an urgent, critical need for members of our community who rely on local meal programs, churches, schools and other agencies for nourishment,” said Susan Gray, TEP President and CEO. “Our local food banks and distribution programs are seeing greater need right now, so we’re stepping in to help.”…
