Koa Peat has high confidence in freshmen teammates

Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd embraces playing big men more than most coaches in the country, which means that Koa Peat usually has another big next to him on the court. For the freshman Peat, the ability to play with another big man has helped his game and the Wildcats overall.

“Obviously they’re different type players, but when I have them with me on the court I feel like we’re gonna go out here there and compete and they’re both really good,” Peat said. “Having them complement my game, I feel like it really helps me a lot. It helps me get open looks, and it’s easy to drop it off to them as well. I think they’re the best rebounders in the country.”

Not only have the big men played well to start the season, but Arizona has heavily relied on freshmen and it has been successful so far. Peat believes a major reason for that success is how well the freshmen get along together and are able to work together on and off the court…
