Local Native Desert Plants Rescued and Now on Display at Sonoran Desert Nature Trail

The Tucson Cactus and Succulent Society has donated more than 300 native desert plants to the Desert Botanical Garden. The plants are now displayed at the top of the Sonoran Desert Nature Trail. They were originally from Oro Valley and Vail and were rescued from areas near Tucson that are being developed.

The donation helps the Garden conserve desert plants, especially those native to Arizona’s Sonoran Desert. The new plants add to the Garden’s collection and provide data for researchers.
