TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Impersonation has become one of the fastest-growing cybercrime threats as criminals pose as trusted people or organizations to deceive others, often to steal money.
13 News anchor Rebecca Taylor, has been targeted by dozens of imposter accounts on social media, with scammers using her photos, videos, and personal details from Facebook and Twitter to reach out to followers and viewers with misleading messages.
The fake “Rebecca Taylor” accounts claim to be private, backup, or fan accounts. While 13 News blocks imposter accounts, new ones continue to appear.
