Tucson theaters react to possible impact from Warner Bros. deal

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – As the bidding war between Netflix and Paramount for the film company Warner Bros. continues, many worry a streaming service buying a Hollywood studio could spell doom for local movie theaters.

“Just the general interaction of being in a theater with other people watching the movie, and we play up the importance of that by letting people interact,” said The Loft Cinema Program Director Jeff Yanc.

Yanc says theaters like his rely on the interaction, which is at the heart of local movie screenings. He says a possible Warner Bros. deal does create a possible problem…
