TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Tucson Marathon returned for its 54th year Sunday, drawing roughly 3,000 runners to the Old Pueblo for the annual race.
The route started at Biosphere 2 in Oracle and took runners through the mountains of Oro Valley before ending at Pima Community College Northwest Campus. The largely downhill course makes it one of the fastest Boston-qualifying marathons in the country.
Joseph Moreno, a Tucson native who attended Tucson High and now goes to the University of Arizona, won the overall race. He finished with a time of 2:27, more than two minutes ahead of the next runner with an average pace of 5 minutes and 37 seconds…
