Tucson hotel tax increase sparks industry concerns

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Tucson’s City Council will vote Tuesday on increasing the transient occupancy tax rate from 6% to 9%, a move that could make hotel stays more expensive.

The city estimates the increase will bring in $1.1 million in funding to address lower-than-expected revenue streams and meet 2026 fiscal year goals, according to a city memo.
