Trail cameras capture Cinco, the 5th jaguar to cross into Arizona

Near southeastern Arizona’s borderlands, there’s a new jaguar on the scene.

Under the cover of night in late November, the big cat was spotted traipsing through tall grass, providing a fleeting glimpse at one of the state’s most elusive creatures.

Nicknamed Cinco, the jaguar was caught on camera over Thanksgiving weekend by the University of Arizona’s Wild Cat Research and Conservation Center, which has been monitoring jaguar appearances and movement for nearly 15 years…
