Tucson firefighters rescued frightened German shepherd whose paw got stuck under car’s tire

On Christmas Eve, firefighters from the Tucson Fire Department had been heading down Golf Links after clearing a car fire when the crew noticed they were being flagged down by several drivers who had pulled over to the side of the road.

According to eyewitnesses, a German shepherd had been running loose along the wet roadway when he jumped in front of a car. Fortunately, the driver of the vehicle slammed on his brakes and was able to stop, however the dog’s paw was partially stuck under the rear tire.

The fire crew blocked traffic in the area to keep everyone safe. The dog was scared, but appeared to be uninjured. He was turned over to the animal control officer at the scene.

The crew quickly used the apparatus to block traffic and keep everyone safe on the busy, wet roadway…
