Pima County warns of court-related scams

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Pima County Superior Court wants to warn people about scam artists falsely claiming to be a law enforcement officer calling on behalf of a judge.

In a release, the Pima County Superior Court says scammers may act as court employees or law enforcement officers and threaten to arrest, prosecute, or other legal consequences for allegedly failing to comply with a court order or jury summons.

The court says these scammers may request immediate monetary compensation, a gift card, or even confidential personal information they say they will use to “pay the fine” or “look up the arrest warrant.”…
