SOLON Corporation has completed and energized an 8.75-megawatt behind-the-meter solar installation at Tucson Water’s Central Avra Valley Storage and Recovery Project (CAVSARP), which the company says is the largest known behind-the-meter solar project in Arizona.
The system was energized in August 2025 and delivered with no upfront cost to the City of Tucson, according to the company. Over the next 28 years, the project is projected to generate 514.42 GWh of renewable energy, reducing CAVSARP’s reliance on traditional power sources. The project is estimated to deliver $3,368,344 in energy savings over its lifetime.
