City leaders, residents reflect on 100 Days of STAR Village

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – STAR Village, the city’s first outdoor safe sleeping site, reached its 100-day milestone Friday as city leaders visited to celebrate the program’s success.

The site has assisted 72 women since opening in October, with many moving on to more permanent housing. All current residents have jobs, are making income, and are working with case management services.

“I don’t have to worry about, you know, anything. You get your own privacy, and I don’t have to worry about nothing,” said Mollie, a STAR Village resident who moved in when the site opened…
