Wrong-way driver accused of killing two migrants also faces smuggling charges

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Federal officials have slapped migrant smuggling charges on a man already facing two state counts of murder and aggravated assault in Arizona.

All charges against Adolfo Hernandez Salazar stem from a Jan. 22 wrong-way crash on Interstate 19 north of Nogales that resulted in the deaths of two migrants and injuries to another motorist.

Court records show U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to a special unit tracking illicit activity linked to transnational criminal organizations had zeroed in that afternoon on a Chevrolet Malibu parked near a residence in Nogales…
