New food pantry helps support Tucson’s vulnerable populations

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – St. Francis Community Services has opened a new food pantry on Tucson’s east side, offering free fresh food and essentials to the community’s unhoused and vulnerable populations.

The pantry, which opened just a few weeks ago, is seeing a strong community response, with lines forming before the doors open each week.

The food pantry offers a full selection of items to meet basic nutritional needs and personal care requirements:

  • Fresh produce – rotating seasonal vegetables and fruits
  • Meats – variety of protein options
  • Dairy products – milk, cheese, and other essentials
  • Baked goods – fresh bread and pastries
  • Canned goods – shelf-stable nutritious options
  • Hygiene items – personal care products

All items are continuously rotated to ensure freshness, with donations coming from major community partners, including Walmart and Natural Grocers…
