Arizona airman, spouse indicted in $11M military fraud scheme

A Tucson couple was indicted by a federal grand jury after a multi-year scheme to defraud the U.S. Department of War of millions of dollars to fund a luxurious lifestyle was discovered during an investigation.

Air Force Sgt. Richard Stefon Ramroop, 35, and his spouse 32-year-old Manuel George Madrid were charged with conspiracy to commit theft of government property, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud and money laundering, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona said in a news release.
