TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – More than half of U.S. K-12 teachers hold a second job, according to a new Gallup poll, and Tucson teachers are among them.
The poll found 62% of U.S. teachers have a second job, and 85% of those teachers work that job during the school year.
Tucson teacher pay trails state and national averages
Teacher pay in Arizona runs about $10,000 below the national average. Tucson teacher pay falls below the state average, at just over $50,000 a year.
