Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has been under fire for his stewardship of the Nancy Guthrie investigation. Now, a longtime Tucson resident is sounding the alarm regarding a November 2024 incident at a local airport in which Nanos was allegedly found with a loaded and undeclared firearm in his carry-on bag.

Cory Stephens, Stephens, the president of the Conservative Coalition of America, first raised the subject at a meeting of the Pima County Board of Supervisors on Nov. 12, 2024, six days after the incident occurred.

“If a private citizen had encountered that at the airport, the consequences would have been greater,” Stephens told Fox News Digital Friday. “We as citizens want answers. The safety of our community is at stake.”
