Suspect shoots at bail bondsman and toward a restaurant on Tucson’s southside

TUCSON, Ariz. — A man wanted for firing multiple shots at a bail bondsman and toward an occupied Arby’s restaurant on Tucson’s southside was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound as authorities prepared to arrest him.

The incident began on April 7 when deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of shots fired at an Arby’s located at 5275 South Palo Verde Road at approximately 4:45 p.m., according to a press release. Deputies learned that 54-year-old Ralph Eric Ramirez had gotten into a physical altercation with a bail bondsman who was attempting to take him into custody.

During the altercation, Ramirez fired a gun multiple times at the bondsman and in the direction of the occupied restaurant while fleeing, recklessly endangering numerous bystanders, according to PCSD. No injuries were reported…
