FIRST ALERT FORECAST – Blowing dust, strong winds, and warming temperatures

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A First Alert Weather Day is in place for the first half of today due to a Wind Advisory through 1 PM for the Tucson metro and our valleys. Expect east to southeast winds 25–30 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph. Blowing dust may reduce visibility, and strong gusts could push around loose or unsecured items.

A backdoor front is driving the gusty winds and bringing in increasing moisture, which supports a slight chance of isolated dry thunderstorms later this afternoon. Temperatures stay seasonably warm, topping out in the upper 80s today.

We warm up a bit tomorrow as 90s return, with our warmest day Tuesday. An upper-level trough arrives mid-week, bringing cooler temperatures and a return to seasonal averages…
