A Walden Grove High School student who admitted to making threats to bring an explosive device and firearms to the school was arrested after a 911 call and booked into the Pima County Juvenile Court Center, Sahuarita Police Department officials said Monday.
Officers first responded on Saturday, May 2, after receiving a 911 report that the male juvenile had threatened to bring an explosive device and guns to campus for the following Monday, May 4. Officers located and interviewed the youth the same night; the department says the juvenile substantiated the allegations and admitted to making the threats. He was arrested on counts of Threats and Intimidation and Interfering with an Educational Institution and was booked into the Pima County Juvenile Court Center. After the male juvenile was booked on Saturday night, he was then released, Sahuarita police tell KGUN.
This morning, officers were again notified by 911 that the same juvenile was on a school bus en route to Walden Grove. School staff and officers were able to isolate the student and conduct an initial search of his person and belongings; no weapons or suspicious items were found.
