TULSA, Okla. — As many Americans prepare to celebrate Independence Day, one local organization is honoring veterans in a meaningful way while creating opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Each Thursday, a job crew from A New Leaf carefully cleans veterans’ headstones through a partnership with The Shining Honor Project. The work helps preserve the memory of those who served while providing participants with paid employment and valuable job experience.
