Man arrested after police find portable meth lab in bag

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa police arrested a 61-year-old man just after midnight Friday after an officer discovered he was carrying a portable meth lab inside a bag he threw into the grass during a pedestrian stop.

Darryl Riggins is now being held at the Tulsa County Jail. Police say he was taken to a hospital for evaluation following his arrest before being booked into custody.

How the arrest unfolded

A Tulsa police officer was patrolling a neighborhood near Admiral and Sheridan when he spotted Riggins walking in the middle of the road while typing on his phone. When the officer approached for a pedestrian check, police report Riggins threw a bag he was carrying into the grass.

Officers found meth in Riggins’ pocket. Inside the discarded bag, they discovered a one-pot portable meth lab.

Lab dismantled, small fire contained
